Whenever possible students are challenged to work in the real world. Below are examples of the courses I teach.

The Presentation on Applied Learning Approaches below provides an overview of some of the service learning projects my students have done in the U.S. and several other countries. Members of the University of The Gambia Street Law Clinic from July, 2017, are pictured on the right after teaching at a local high school.

Advanced Legal Research

​Buchanan County Circuit Judges Dan Kellogg and Kate Schaeffer address students and participants at the Name Change and Gender Marker Clinic. The judges provided practical tips on court proceedings to transgender clinic participants. Both judges are Missouri Western State University alumni.

Missouri Western's Human Rights Day Fair was first created through an Honors Human Rights Course. It includes presentations from students in Civil Rights Law, Human Rights and a Social Work course.
