ABOUT ME
The University of Iowa Law School Clinic introduced me to the importance of representing those who would otherwise be denied access to justice. This led to my first career as a NGO attorney at Legal Aid. At Legal Aid I helped people gain access to basic necessities of food, shelter, access to health care and peace in the home. I also supervised interns. I saw what an impact doing legal work for those in need had on upcoming professionals.
I became a Professor because I wanted to encourage the next generation of legal professionals to make access to justice a part of their career. Bringing clinic type applied learning approaches to learning does this, while bringing the subject alive in the classroom. You can see some of the ways this works under the "COURSES" tab of this website.
